Mckenzie Second

The parable of the dishonest steward, recorded in Luke 16: 1-8.

Jesus told his disciples: "It There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions. So I called him and asked, "What I hear you account for their management, because? administrator can not be longer. "

"The manager said to himself," What shall I do now? "My master takes my work. I have no strength to dig, and I am ashamed to beg - I know what I'll do when I lose my job Here, people will welcome me into their homes. "

It therefore calls for each of the debtors of his master. He asked the first: "How do you owe my master? "

"Eight hundred gallons of olive oil," he said.

"The manager said:" Take your ticket, sit down quickly and write fifty. "

Then he asked the second, "And how do you? "

"A thousand bushels of wheat, "replied.

He said: "Take your bill and write eighty. "

"The master commended the dishonest steward for acting shrewdly. For the people of this world are wiser in dealing with peers who are people of light.

It is clear that in this parable Jesus is not commending the dishonesty of the steward. Jesus wanted to teach his audience a real importance and significance of this figure appears which focused on the development of the forecasting record. The element of action which precipitated Butler strong recommendation of the teacher was expected to forecast and an acute awareness of the need to plan so when the need arises (which, apparently, was rapidly approaching the steward), which would be accepted in homes of debtors of his master.

It seems that the message of our Lord wanted to convey the kingdom of God. I tried to instill in the consciousness of listeners and the imminence of the Kingdom the need for them to keep their eyes open and be vigilant and prepared for the announcement that the new government.

Dwight Beck said The main idea of this passage is that "men should use the provision for their spiritual and eternal life with ingenuity and spirit of men preparedness plan your future with material things. "John McKenzie made an interesting observation when added to the opposition between the point of dishonesty and the vision that Jesus wanted to reflect on the idea that honest does not always succeed on this basis obvious that dishonesty.

Dishonesty requires a certain level of deception and it is this ability to be smart to beat us encouraged to use in preparing for the big day of the Lord. dishonest behavior is not welcome in this parable.

NOTE:

This is one of 10 difficult passages in the Gospels of the New Testament that I believe New. I will share my understanding of interpretation, and other respected works as follows.

In the final analysis, however, the whole word God speaks and you learn that, like me, when I an ear, dark biblical verses are not a concern and I did not mute the voice of God Almighty.
