One of the most commonly quoted passages in the Bible, particularly by people who did not even take a Bible to begin is chapter Matthew 7 verse 1, where Jesus says: "Do not judge, lest be judged." Many people who have never read the Bible before quoting in this respect Christians who condemn others for sins in particular. However, it seems that never look beyond this statement in the following verses which explain very clearly what Jesus meant when he said that. Look at what that really means this verse, when considering the context.

We must first note that the statement itself is not simply "Do not judge," if people could have something to build on. There is more communication, and we find this "you be not judged" also means reading the following verse says. "With the trial you judge you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "We started to see a clearer picture of what Jesus is trying to convey here. In attempting to person guilty of a particular sin, you can expect is also considered in the process. However, the question is whether you You also blame you.

Verses 3 and 4 of the statement: "Why are you looking at the mote in thy brother's eye, but do not consider not the beam in your eye How can you say to your brother? Let me take the speck from your eye ', and here's a table in your eye "can see clear picture now, as Jesus? Is obviously warning his listeners not to engage in hypocrisy. In fact, in verse Following Jesus Christ calls hypocrites! Jesus does not say these people do not judge at all, but rather to review their own before you decide to judge a another. Again, before judging someone for doing something wrong, ask yourself whether or not you are guilty of the same.

Another common expression is "Do not judge a book by its cover." The only problem is that Jesus never said this, but quite the contrary. Jesus said, "You know the tree by its fruit. "Another interesting thing to note in this passage from Matthew chapter 7, is that Jesus himself is actually in the process of identifying people who talk about calling the hypocrites. He also continues to encourage people to judge, but to be careful first "elimination of the plank in your eye." If we issue the opinion of someone who is guilty of a particular sin, need to be sure we are not guilty of the same sin.

This passage is one example among many passages out of context by the unbelievers and believers. One of the best things we can learn is the Bible with the intention of finding exactly what the authors of origin of a particular meaning of the text. We do this by reading everything in context, and not to jump to other passages to define words. If you have a single verse in context, can make Bible says that we want. In fact, how many religious groups have been launched.

The next time you hear someone quote Matthew chapter 7 verse 1 be sure to tell them things to read the next two sentences. Explain he is a hypocrite who is condemned here not simply to judge. Also note that Jesus himself is in the very act of judging in this passage. This will certainly opened my eyes to the truth.
