Colossians 3:1-7 TRANSLATION of the original language (Greek)

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your mind on things above, not things on earth. 3 For you died, and his life is hidden with Christ in God. 4The Christ is our life appears, also appear with him in glory. 5Put killing two members on the earth: fornication, impurity, passions, evil desires and greed which is idolatry 6ON account of the wrath of God comes upon the son of disobedience. 7 In these also won a time when living in these things.

Exegesis

The proviso "if" discussion bridges front and rear. Paul addresses several topics in chapter two, the legalism, worship of angels and asceticism. Jewish laws were stretched at the end and Paul said it is ridiculous to return to these practices if the Colossians had died with Christ to the basic things in the universe.

The article "If" is a first-class status in Greek and does not represent the uncertainty. Rather, the argumentative force and is better understood or because they have been raised. "Should be considered after careful observation of Paul's use the proviso in his writings is emphatically to say what is indisputable.

The use of the aorist imperative in verse Five years is overwhelming. Paul did not mean to keep, shielding or suppression but rather "to death". It shows the strength in action. It is interesting to note that "kai" no Greek word translated "and" in verse four. This is a case in which means "also". Here we see Christ as our life; inotherwords, the essence of our being. The whole verse refers to his glorious return.

Paul echoes the first and tenth commandments in Exodus when he observed that we must put to death, among others, coveteouness their idolatry.

Passage in general negotiations on the indicative and the imperative of Christian life and a great experience for us today. The Indicative show what we are and how we are placed in Christ, while declaring that the imperatives of what we do. Today's Christians must realize that Christianity is a combination of indicative and imperative.

There are several indicators identified in step. In verse three, notes that "we're dead." Two verses earlier, noting that "raised." Paul again in the third verse says that "life is hidden with Christ in God." In verses nine and ten, Paul speaks of the old man and the nature of news that have been removed and replaced respectively.

The passage, as noted above, it is also imperative. The Colossians (which must seek the things above) must establish think not as things of the earth (verse two). They are to be put to death (verse five) different things. Paul uses the impressive style of writing. Passage (Verses five, eight and twelve years, the latter not included) can be regarded as one of "five years". In verse five, five things must be put to death. It is followed by five that should be taken in verse eight and five that should be put in verse twelve. This shows how constructive Paul teaching. How can we forget the easy flow of thoughts in this passage?

Many of the ministers to impose "two" and "make" for members. The reason for this tension is limited to requests. What is really needed is a balance of the indicative and imperative a sense of Christian life.

A task would be incomplete without a brief comment on the verse Galatians 3:28 echoes eleven times. Christians must realize that one of the greatest achievements of Christianity is to break down national barriers, racial or cultural. Christ is the crucible. We all one in him.
