Psalm 111.10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The word fear in the Psalms and Proverbs are 8.13 to 111.10 times the same word used. The Hebrew word used is Yireh, which means reverence. Our English word means before showing an attitude of deep compliance. We had better understand, to have some fear of the Lord, we hate what he hates. We are to hate all forms of evil, pride, arrogance, evil ways, and every tongue that is not honest, pure and good report.

The fear of the Lord is manifested by obedience to the Word of God. We now understand that fear the Lord is more than the recognition of Him as our Lord and Savior. The fear of the Lord is revealed to be an observer of the word. We recognize that our great throughout adore, hate all evil and all forms of it, and put God first in our lives.
