There are a multitude of Bible translations that exist today - a staggering amount. If you doubt what I say, just go to your library local religious - or even a secular bookstore. If you need to view and section of religion and philosophy, you will probably find several shells filled with different types of Bible translations. If you have not done much reading or Bible study before in your life, you can be in a great loss to know which translation of the Bible of choice. In this article, I give you some food for thought - I'm not really tell you what you want should be, I want you to come next for a few minutes and help you do your own thinking -
One thing to think is what do you expect your copy of the Bible. Are you primarily interested in studying the Bible in a profound way - or are you interested sitting and reading, perhaps for long periods of time? Some translations of the Bible are more "conversation" in tone - which is sometimes called dynamic equivalence translations or paraphrase. Many people find it easier types of translations of the Bible to read. On the other hand, you may prefer a more literal or traditional type of the Bible, if you're interested in Bible study or research in depth.
Another consideration important here is the amount of education you received.
