Bullock pens a sweet, romantic inspiration, American history with "Christmas is weird." Rico in the establishment, this story of a postmistress of Missouri is one that captures the spirit of Christmas and reminds us why, today, Christmas is so important.
Story is set in 19th century America and opens with a violent snow storm that surrounds the small town of Primrose, Missouri. Melinda Jane Frazier is the postmistress of the town and lives alone. His father, who had taken over, has died. In winter, the wind howled, she hears a blow. Answering the door with a gun in hand, she discovers a tramp named Zeke, and his son, Timothy, in need of shelter. Melinda takes them When the storm subsided, a grateful Zeke Melinda offers to help around the farm. Zeke is going to live in the hut near the house. Timothy, who is seven, is also installed, helping his father do the job. Since Christmas is around the corner, Zeke and Timothy stay with Melinda during the holidays. Timothy Primrose do new friends, and grows to admire Melinda Zeke. After the holidays, Zeke, baffled by the growing intensity of their feelings Melinda, back to his wandering ways and leaves. Only time will tell if Zeke can find your way back to Melinda.
Bullock style is easy to read and keep the reader hung. His descriptions are vivid and rich in detail, from the introduction of smells in the kitchen, helping to capture the authenticity of the story. Their dialogue and character accents are well done and gives the reader an idea of time.
Zeke and Melinda are well developed characters and the reader can understand their motivations. Zeke is an honest man of heart, but must balance their need to travel with the desire for a family. In this regard, Melinda offers Bible of his father, so you can pull it. Not likely to read the Bible, after Zeke has a disturbing encounter with the daughter of a farmer, help draw strength from the decision that has to do.
Melinda is one of the traits loyal, hardworking and honest, to be admired in a character American history. Melinda desire for a family is that many can not communicate with one. The distribution is also very comprehensive and enjoyable read.
"Christmas Stranger" is "sweet" for readers of romance with Zeke and exchanging glances Melinda desire and a sweet kiss. In Generally, "Christmas Stranger" is a tender, warm inspiration read the heart of the reader.
